Crawford led off first and attempted to step back on the base when pitcher Jake Arrieta's pickoff attempt hit him square in the groin area. Crawford was on the ground for an extended period of time before gingerly walking off the field.

He was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a testicular contusion. He could miss a couple of games.
