Mets' minor leaguer Murphy expected to miss season

06/03/2010 - Buffalo, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Daniel Murphy, a promising fixture of the New York Mets future before injuries forced him to Triple-A Buffalo, will miss the next four-to-six months with a high grade MCL tear of the right knee.

Murphy, playing second base for the Bisons on Wednesday night, was slid into by the Peoria Chiefs' Leonard Davis. He was helped off the field, and with the expected recovery timetable, will miss the rest of the season.

Since joining Buffalo on May 24, Murphy was hitting .294 with one home run and eight RBI. He hit 12 home runs with 63 runs batted in 155 games for the Mets last season.
